The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi Grand Canal Hotel

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company confirmed on Sunday it has signed an agreement with Abu Dhabi National Hotels (ADNH) to operate its first property in Abu Dhabi. The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi Grand Canal Hotel designed by Otak International, will be spread across 54 acres and will boast 447 guestrooms and suites and 85 villas.

“We are delighted to be bringing The Ritz-Carlton renowned levels of hospitality to the power capital of the United Arab Emirates,” said Herve Humler, president and chief operations officer of the Ritz-Carlton, in a statement. “The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal hotel will be a welcome landmark, and together with the owning company Abu Dhabi National Hotels, we will create a prestigious luxury hotel that will be the highlight of the new waterfront development.”

The World’s First Floating Golf Course

Waterstudio.NL, Dutch Docklands and Troon Golf plans to launch the world’s first floating golf course in the Maldives. The 18-hole golf course will be built on floating platforms, located five minutes from the Maldives airport. The floating golf course will be solar powered, and will include luxurious accommodations with breathtaking views of the greens and the surrounding reefs.

The luxury course will incorporate technologies, such as water cooling, water desalination, and the use of floating solar blanket fields as well as underwater tunnels will connect the holes and facilities together.

Ritz-Carlton has opened the world’s highest hotel in Hong Kong on Tuesday, March 29. Located on the top of Hong Kong’s giant buildingand 490 metres, offering unrivalled panoramic views of the world famous Victoria Harbour.

Visitors peered out of the floor-to-ceiling windows of the 118th floor of the International Commerce Centre, which houses the hotel, for a 360 degree view of the glitzy financial hub and the South China Sea.
